Emergency School Bus Pact - Associated School Boards of South Dakota
Emergency School Bus Pact

The Emergency School Bus Mutual Assistance Pact is a service provided to member schools for the purpose of promoting the safety of students when they are traveling on school functions. In the event of a bus malfunction, there is a prepared list of participating contacts. This prepared list of all the schools that elected to participate in the Emergency School Bus Mutual Assistance Pact has been provided to the Superintendent and Business Official and we are now placing it on our website.

To obtain assistance from a participating school district in case of an emergency, a school bus driver or other authorized person should call the nearest cooperating district for a bus and driver.

The requesting district is required to pay the assisting district within 30 days. Payment for the mileage incurred for the round trip on the basis of the cost per mile reported to DOE by the asĀsisting district for the previous year. The driver would be paid by the requesting district at the normal rate set by the assisting district, plus any additional stay-over expenses.
